SUNDAY MOURNING
Its wake up day for our Savior!
The grave cannot contain Him.
He is THE Resurrection!
He IS Life!
With passionate love, the Father calls for His Son to wake. Can we even begin to imagine how this separation affected the Trinity? Eternal Love inhales its first resurrection breath. The once wounded and sleeping body of Christ awakens. Only the scars on his hands and feet remain as a memorial in the fully alive body of Jesus. His life was perfect. His death was perfect. And now His resurrected life is complete with the hope of each Earthling free to choose His love over our deception, disease & distrust. Our brokenness need not keep us from Him any longer. So on this Easter Sunday, may our mourning turn to joy for the reality of One Empty Tomb that guarantees there will be countless empty tombs when he wakens those we long to hold out of their sleep of death. Imagine His longing ~ his desire to raise those who have died! If we long for our loved ones, could this also be the experience of our fair and just God?“We do not want you to be uninformed, brother, concerning those who are asleep so that you will not grieve like the rest, who have no hope. Since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, in the same way God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep through Jesus. For we say this to you by a revelation from the Lord: We who are still alive at the Lord’s coming will certainly have no advantage over those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the archangel’s voice, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are still alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words.”I Thessalonians 4:13-18 Hollman Christian Standard Bible 2008
